Luther/Fayt ficlet: Brownie Points
Title: Brownie Points
Fandom: SO:3
Author: Gothatheartholo
Pairing: Pre-slash, leaning towards Luther/Fayt
Rating/Warning: Eh, pg13.
Disclaimer: Nope, I don’t own.
Summary: AU. A precious moment of beginnings.
A/n: READ CAREFULLY: 1) I wrote this on an IM conversation with Ruine, so this was written in real-time, as though I’m rp-ing. Thus, the point of view is omniscient third person. 2) I apologize for the crappy writing. I tried to fix it up. I’ll probably expand this again later, but this -was- the original idea, before my brain decided to twist it. -_-;;

Sophia was the type of girl, who was known by everybody, the girl next door, so it wasn't a surprise that she'd be popular enough for people to go to her grand thirteenth birthday party.
Even Fayt Leingod, the somewhat "strange" one -- at least by the norm-- was invited.
But what was even stranger, was the fact that there were other people, that Sophia didn't know of, who went to the party-- namely, Luther Lansfeld, the idiosyncratic one, with his acute intelligence and, well, he wasn't just any nerdy nerd; he was...a mystery.
Luther's presence did not disturb the party much; life went on as it should, with kids running around, joining party games and so on forth. It just so happened, that there were only two kids that did not participate in those games--unsurprisingly Luther and Fayt. Somehow, they ended up in the backyard of Sophia's grand house, where the snacks were located.
On the table near Fayt were a plate of freshly made brownies. Fayt stared at the plate and then glanced at the other recluse. He had heard so much of Luther Lansfeld. He mainly dubbed Luther as that "Other One" because he was "One" and Luther was the "Other One" in their many classes where they were classified and stereotyped as nerds. Except Fayt was a little more friendly and was involved in some school things. And Luther, well, he was involved in some stuff too-- science related things.
Anyway, those brownies looked tasty. He grabbed one and begun to munch on it. Yum. Chocolate.
As for Luther, he stared at Fayt and at the brownie he was eating and was rather, amused as any thirteen-year-old genius could. Ah, he had heard of Fayt Leingod, the kid with the scientists for parents. He dubbed Fayt as his possible "rival", not in a rival kind of sense itself, but as someone who could probably challenge him. Probably.
Fayt finally noticed that he was being watched. He finished eating the brownie, tilted his head to the side and simply said, in the most "intelligent" manner, "What?"
Utter silence.
Oh, and Luther was reminded just how... strange the other boy looked, with his soft blue hair and his big green eyes. He offered no words, merely gestured his hand, pointing at his own chin for the other boy to know that he had a bit of a brownie thing over there.
Fayt blinked and being the cute boy he was, he blinked again and brought his finger to his chin. There he found the smudge of brownie. "Oh."
And once again, the silence followed. Luther was amused once more by the boy's antics. Now he could somewhat understand why Sophia sometimes lugged Fayt around, proclaiming to the whole entire universe that Fayt was her beloved boyfriend, Ha, such sh-- silly things.
"Why are you making funny faces at me?" Fayt inquired, looking at Luther fully. "Do I have something else on my chin?" He was confused. He shook his head and grabbed another brownie and then offered it to Luther.
Luther stared at the proffered brownie. If he rejected it, then he would probably cast an unfavorable impression on Fayt. If he ate it, well, the worst he could probably get were pimples from the chocolate, but he'd gain something much better-- a real friend. Maybe.
So he grabbed the brownie and took a bite.
Fayt smiled, his eyes shined and Luther knew that that smile, that peaceful, innocent expression would be kept securely and preciously in his memories, wrapped in colorful streams like a present.
End...
