There were many advantages to being young and being old.

For instance, his lover Sora was young and was much more energetic than him; Sora would be the one to drag Leon out of the bed. He’d be the one to show Leon how life was so much more than work or pain or grief. He had already showed Leon how wonderful life was through love.

However, being young wasn’t always a good thing. Sometimes Sora was naïve; it wouldn’t dawn to him just how truly dark the world was. This was where Leon would try to step in and guide him through it since he was the older and the wiser, but he knew that he could not protect Sora forever.

He could only love him.

Even now, in the darkness of the night, they held hands. They gave each other smiles of promises, tightened their hold on each other and strolled their way over to home-- to their home while enjoying the peacefulness and the privacy of the night.

“Ooh, it’s chilly,” Sora said with a shiver.

Leon chuckled. “You’ll get used to it.”

Despite it though, he wrapped an arm around Sora’s neck and kept him close. The shivering stopped and Sora smiled. “Thanks!”

“Mmhmm.”
