Rufus/Cloud one-shot: To Claim - 2/100
Title: To Claim
Fandom: FF7
Author: Gothatheartholo
Pairing: Rufus Shin-Ra / Cloud Strife
Rating/Warning: R for racy stuff, again and some pretty dark stuff, if you think about it.
Disclaimer: I do not own or make money off this game or fandom.
Summary: There were so many ways to claim and mark something as one’s possession.
A/n: Damn, I’ve been itching to write R/C for quite some time. Finally got the chance to do that, when I’m supposed to be on hiatus. Oh well.

* i *

    Rufus’ new office was clean-- almost too clean, with the white walls, his sleek wooden desk, his curvy, cushiony chairs and his files and paperwork all collected and organized in their right folders.

    The air smelled clean as well-- fresh from the breeze that came from the windows, but when something was too clean, it was often the most corrupted.

    Rufus glanced at the black package sitting innocently on top of his wooden desk. A small smile crept into his face as he thought about his recent, favorite toy:

    Cloud Strife.

    There were so many ways to claim and mark something as one’s possession. One of the blatant ways was simply saying the word “Mine,“ but he preferred the subtler ways-- ways that wouldn’t be noticed unless one dared to take a closer look.

    And if one took a closer look at Cloud, it seemed that, like some of his toys, Cloud was unaccounted for. He would have to fix that. He would take care of that soon.

* ii *

    Before Cloud left for today, Rufus cupped Cloud’s head with a strong grip and pulled him into a kiss. Like their previous kisses, this kiss was harsh and impersonal.

    Rufus explored and dominated every inch of Cloud’s mouth. He swallowed every moan that wanted to spill from those lips.

    When they finally pulled away, there was an interesting expression on Cloud’s face. His blue-green eyes were dark with lust, but there was a frown on his swollen lips.

    “You know, Tifa’s beginning to notice these little things,” Cloud murmured and he craned his pale, slender neck, giving Rufus a delicious image of the hicky he had given to Cloud a few days before this goodbye kiss.

* iii *

    This time, Rufus decided to strip Cloud off of his shirt and while they kissed, he dragged his fingernails down Cloud’s already marred back.

    Cloud let out a low, satisfied groan, as though pain was the only way to truly satisfy him.

    Even if Rufus wanted to, he couldn’t break Cloud anymore.

    Cloud was already broken, a poor broken little toy. How could one truly fix what was already broken in the first place?

    “What are you doing?” Cloud whispered harshly against his lips. “Do you want Tifa to see those too?”

    “Maybe,” Rufus murmured, before sealing those lips with his own.

    Once more.

* iv *

    When they were in one of the private rooms of the hotel, and had already began their little game, there were moments where Cloud was never truly there.

    In these moments, Rufus would thrust into him just a bit harder and deeper, letting out a loud groan as he did so, to bring Cloud back, to stop those lips from whispering some things that he would rather not hear and know.

    And then those blue-green eyes would flash and he’d gaze upon Rufus with such lust and passion. Just what did he see in Cloud? What did Cloud see in him? Why were they doing this?

    He didn't know. He was never really sure.

* v *

    Rufus was sitting alone in his office.

    He had already lost himself in the past.

    He thought about what had made Cloud so appealing to him. It was more than the fine, gorgeous looks, or the strength and the power that Rufus sometimes coveted.

    It was about having something that he wanted to keep, but was never truly emotionally attached to.

    But the fact remained-- even though Cloud had never truly said anything to call this off, Cloud was never Rufus’ toy. Despite all the claims and the marks, he never belonged to Rufus.

    He belonged to the past, the memories and the people in those memories.

    Rufus had to admit, the acknowledgment alone aggravated him.

* vi *

    Cloud was standing in Rufus’ office. There was no package in his hands.

    “It’s over,” Cloud muttered, his eyes were icy cold, mirroring his own.

    “It doesn’t seem to be, if you’ve come all this way just to say that to me,” Rufus said softly. This was another game they played, but the risks and the costs were much higher than the previous ones.

    “What of it then?” Cloud inquired calmly.

    “What will it take…” Rufus trailed off, looking to the side. He would never admit that out loud. It wasn’t as though he was desperate. It wasn’t as though he was in love. He simply wanted to control something that was never his in the first place.

    Cloud leaned down so that their faces were only a few inches away from each other and then in a soft, gentle voice, he replied:

    “Only-- if all you think about is me.”

* vii *

    On the bed of Rufus’ private bedroom, Cloud straddled Rufus’ waist and began to slowly bring himself down to Rufus’ awaiting, aching length.

    Rufus could only think of Cloud as heat surrounded him. He could only think of Cloud as his muscles pressed and moved around him. It was almost too much, but never enough.

    And when Rufus came, he saw white and he could have sworn that he heard Cloud utter his name.

    When it was over, Cloud was resting on top of him. Rufus pushed the sweaty, blond bangs away from his lover’s face and saw the peaceful expression that he wore.

    Cloud was completely his now.

    The memories didn’t seem to haunt Cloud anymore.

* viii *

    When they woke up in the morning, they took a shower together and began dressing up in their clothes that defined the roles that they played in the world.

    Even with Cloud’s black clothes, he wasn’t just a delivery boy. He was the one man who had enough guts to ride across the world just to deliver things, from secret love letters to packages which contained plans that would be used to rebuild the world.

    And with Rufus’ own clothes, he supposed he was somewhat one of the people in Cloud’s past now. He could be less. He could be more. But because he was ambitious, he decided for the latter.

    Before Cloud left, Rufus gave him another kiss, but this time, the kiss was slow and intimate, as though to say: I am the only one who knows who you are now.

    Cloud gave him a small smile. I know.

* fin *

A/n: Hehe, I seem to be pulling up really cool one-shots lately. :D Like what you read? Please review? Want more Rufus/Cloud fanfics from me? Please do tell and review. Got any questions, suggestions, etc? Then review? :D

I wrote this in a braindead state, and drabble-style. So much more convenient for me.

That was a very well done set of connected drabbles. Each led logically to the next, filling in and expanding on the previous one. By the end, Rufus and Cloud being a couple just made sense.

Like Rufus, I'm curious as to what Cloud was muttering in *iv* but I'm not sure it would be good to know...

:D awww, thanks!

Well, I think I'll leave that to the readers' imagination. =D There's a lot of things Cloud would have said when he's not really "there" mentally. XD
