    Sora knew that he was in his bedroom, sleeping under the warm covers of his bed. He was safe. He was secure. He was home.

    And right next to him was his best friend, Riku, and he too was sleeping and was actually snoring. Sora could really hear that, even though he knew that he was locked inside of his dreams.

    He wanted to wake up, to reach out and grab Riku and shake him and tell him to stop snoring because it was getting on his nerves, but he was trapped and now, here he was…

    …at the beach.

    “You said that you wanted to know me.”

    “Huh?” Sora looked around the beach. He heard the soothing crash of the waves, felt the warm sand under his feet and saw the bright blue sky. He could smell the salt of the ocean, feel the ocean breeze and the heat of the sun.

    The scenery was just perfect.

    Roxas was walking towards him. He wasn’t adorned in the mysterious black clothes of the Organization, or the bright, colorful clothes he had worn in Twilight Town. The only clothes he did wear were his black shorts, so Sora could see his naked chest and his pale arms.

    The blond stood by him and smiled. “Err, I’m sorry that I had to do this, but I couldn’t get your attention in any other way.”

    “Huh?” Same response, again.

    “You know, I’m glad I’ve joined with you,” Roxas continued, as though he didn’t hear Sora at all. He was still smiling. “Because, if I was still separated from you and was still a Nobody, then I wouldn’t be able to laugh at your expression right now.”

    “Hey!” Sora protested and Roxas started laughing. “So… you really are my Nobody?”

    “Yup,” Roxas said with a nod. “So, ask me anything, but only three questions though. I don’t know how long I can maintain this dream.”

    “But I thought--” Sora stopped and glanced at his Nobody. Roxas. This was Roxas. “Uh…what’s your favorite…color?”

    “Blue,” Roxas answered simply, “like the color of your eyes.”

    “Haha, I like blue too,” Sora said with a grin, missing Roxas’s other comment. “What’s your favorite ice cream treat?”

    “Sea-salt ice cream,” Roxas answered again. “Salty… but sweet.”

    “Yeah, those are really good,” Sora agreed. “Um… one more question.”

    Roxas tilted his head to the side. “What?”

    “Who do you like?” Sora inquired, because, if Roxas was him and he was Roxas, did that mean that he liked Kairi too? Or even Naminé?

    Roxas looked startled for a moment and he actually stepped back, and Sora noticed that the dream, the beach--it was changing. The sky darkened and the winds swirled around and around and the waves were rising as though in fury.

    Was Roxas mad?

    “I can’t answer that,” Roxas said wistfully and he took another step back, his entire form slowly fading, fading, and going away.

    “Don’t go!” Sora cried out and he tried to reach out, holding out his hand, but Roxas simply shook his head and vanished.

    At that moment, he thought that he was completely alone in this darkening place, and he could almost feel the darkness and the shadows closing in, choking him, shaking--

    Shaking?

    Somebody was shaking him, calling his own name, trying to bring him back--

    “Riku!” Sora gasped as he sat up with wide, wide eyes. “I’m… not dreaming anymore?”

    Riku stared at him for a moment, confused. “You weren’t dreaming. You had nightmares.”

    Sora blinked his eyes slowly and though it seemed strange, he had to ask himself why Riku was here and how did they end up sleeping on the same bed and what the hell did that have anything to do with the dreams?
   
    “Oh,” Sora said softly and he turned to Riku. “I think this will be the last time I’ll have a sleepover,” he said, finally recalling the events that had led up to this and he didn’t know why out of all the things he could have said, he chose to say that.

    “Why? Are we too old for this now too?” Riku asked with a laugh, wrapping one arm around Sora’s waist, pulling him closer to Riku. If it was anybody else, Sora would have freaked, but this was his best friend. Wasn’t it natural for them to be close?

    And what about that dream?

    Is it…a warning?

    “I think…” Sora trailed off as he shifted, looking around the room, “he doesn’t want me to.”

    “He?” Riku inquired. “Who?”

    Sora shifted his arms and his legs, so that he was sitting comfortably on Riku’s lap. He looked around the room again and saw the crawling shadows and the walls and realized that he didn’t feel the same sense of security he had felt before.

    “Roxas,” Sora answered and as though to save him from himself, he wrapped his arms around Riku, burying his face in Riku’s neck. “Roxas,” he repeated and closed his eyes.

    There was Roxas again, walking towards him, and this time, he seemed calm and maybe even happy, like in their previous dream.

    "Let me get to know you too."

A/n: That was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever written. O_o um, don’t ask how I came up with this. I just wanted to cheer myself up because I was so depressed that spring break’s over.
