Luther/Fayt one-shot: The Other Side

Title: The Other Side
Fandom: s03
Author: Gothatheartholo
Pairing: Luther/Fayt
Disclaimer: Don’t own.
Summary: The other side of the wandering, which leads to other things.
A/n: For the 15 spells: Dizzy; for the prompts of the May Themes: May Day, rainy day, picnic, sunshine, cherry blossoms; the indefinite challenge: Mystical Pizza; for the weekly challenge: overflow. So yeah, this is the sequel/side story to Wander.

----

He’s supposed to be dead and he knows he’s dead because all he can see around him is darkness--the same darkness that had settled over his eyes the moment he had performed some of his occult spells and the same darkness that occupies his soul because of the way he had been brought up into his world.

He’s just here, in this blackness, unable to move and feel. It seems to overflow, slowly swallowing him whole, and then suddenly somebody calls out to him. It’s weird; it’s not exactly a voice, but more like a feeling reaching out to him, wrapping around him.

It’s loneliness and suddenly, he’s seeing through that man’s eyes, and he knows for sure who that person is. Anger boils in his blood; it’s enough to make him dizzy and go insane again, but he stills and takes a breath. He needs to be in control; otherwise he won’t be able to escape this.

    Maybe he’s only half-dead.

----

Over time he finds out that he can slip into the man’s dreams; he’s not sure how that’s possible, but he can blame that infidel of a woman and her powers of Connection. He’s floating in the man’s mind, locked in this memory of May. The month itself is important because it signifies spring, which is the beginning of everything.

He chuckles bitterly; his new beginning is quite bleak. He can’t control the man because it is the man who controls the dreams, not him. Even if he can slip in and out, he doesn’t have enough strength in him to really go against the dreams and the memories. Of course, he can say and murmur a few sentences here and there, but he knows it’s not enough.

What’s interesting and sad about this is that it happens on a daily basis. The man often thinks of the others, dwelling in his unhappiness and loneliness. A part of Luther wonders why he feels that way, but simultaneously it makes a lot of sense.

It’s the worst thing that can happen to anybody.

    Fayt Leingod is alone.

----

It’s hard to understand, but the more he stays within these dreams, the stronger he becomes. His small light burns away the darkness and for a moment, he could have sworn he sees other things. Worried eyes. Sad smiles. Then he struggles to open his eyes, and he looks around.

There is his sister, Blair, and the other members of the Sphere Company, surrounding him in a hospital room.

“What happened?” Luther asks softly. He hates how he sounds so weak, because he’s not. He tries to rise, only to be pushed down by his sister’s warm hands. Dammit. He’s older than his sister, and yet she’s the one who watches over him. No wonder he can’t kill her.

“You were in a coma for a while,” Blair says solemnly. “Many months, actually.”

“I see,” Luther mutters, bringing his hands together. Now he notices how he’s dressed; all white and pale and helpless. He hates this. He really does.

Blair places a gloved hand over his and smiles at him kindly. He doesn’t deserve that kindness. “Would you like for something to eat?” She glances behind her and takes something from a nearby table. “Mystical Pizza?”

Luther eyes the food; it’s exactly like one of the pizzas in the Eternal Sphere, and the mere thought of that damned game makes his fingers tremble in anger. He shakes his head at his sister, frowning darkly.

----

Blair had informed him of what has been going on in the Sphere Company and the Eternal Sphere. The Eternal Sphere has been left alone, and the new Owner, or rather temporary Owner of the Sphere Company is Blair. Somehow, he’s not surprised because he doesn’t think there is anybody else who can control the Sphere Company, as strange as that sounds.

Now it’s his time to go back there again, but nobody wants him to go back. He’s angry about that and even wants to take the Sphere Company by force, but a part of him knows he can’t, not because he hasn’t been there for a while and that he had done a bad job of moderating it. It’s because there is no honor and pride in taking over it.

He rather likes to take back his company in a slow, honorable way and make people trust him again, but he’s not sure how to go about that. He tries to find inspiration, slipping into Eternal Sphere itself and donning himself in the clothes of the commoners despite the sudden rise of the bile in his throat.

Now he sees trees around him, cherry blossoms floating in the wind. He looks ahead and there is the sun setting. It dawns to him that he’s in one of the mystic lands that reminds him of Japan of the Earth.

He finds no inspiration in this simple beauty, because he feels that he’s not there. He’s disconnected like when he was in a coma.

----

He finds it funny that like Fayt Leingod, he’s wandering from place to place in the Eternal Sphere, still adorned in the clothes of the commoners. All he can think about is what he had seen in Fayt’s mind. One particular memory sticks out; it was Fayt and his best friend, Sophia, having a picnic in one of the fields of Earth.

They look happy; Sophia is smiling, and Fayt is laughing. There are Fayt’s parents standing over the two sitting children, and while he can see happiness in their faces, there is something secretive in their eyes. He figures out that even at that time, Fayt’s parents hasn’t told him or Sophia about their powers, which explains the secretive looks.

He shakes his head and looks around him. He realizes that he’s in the same planet Fayt is in now. This underdeveloped planet is a bit similar to Elicoor II; it is set in the medieval times and has many taverns. He decides that he rather stay here for a while just to see what happens.

His life, ironically is now in Fate’s hands.

----

He finally sees Fayt Leingod as the blue-haired man enters the tavern, slightly wet from what it seems to be rain. There is a pitter patter sound against the surface of the roof and isn’t the man already aware that he’s kind of soaked?

It seems that he’s not, because he just drags himself over to the nearest seat and watches as he sits. He has jaded eyes, a tired mouth, and he looks much older than he is supposed to be. Luther gazes at him from afar, watching him becoming more and more gloomier to the point that he orders some wine.

When Fayt gets drunk, Luther rises from his seat, takes him away and goes to the nearest bedroom. After he locks the door, he lies Fayt against the bed, frowning in disgust at Fayt’s bizarre behavior.

Fayt rises from the bed, eyes squinting. He doesn’t seem to recognize Luther. He stands in front of Luther, places one hand over one arm, and then, without warning, pulls Luther towards himself and kisses him.

The kiss snaps something in Luther, and his body burns as he kisses back. Luther pins him down without breaking the kiss and starts taking off Fayt’s clothes. Others think he’s taking advantage of this, and maybe he is, but Fayt’s the one who started it in the first place.

Soon hands are exploring skin, heated limbs sliding and slipping, creating friction. Passionate kisses are shared and when Luther prepares Fayt and takes him, Fayt moans in pleasure. Fayt’s body is hot and tight around him, sending him close to the edge, and when he can’t take it anymore, he comes, bringing his mouth to Fayt’s neck and biting him.

Fayt lets out another moan and then all there is between them is silence.

----

It’s interesting that he’s already out of his coma, and yet he can still somewhat connect to Fayt in his dreams and memories. He can even hear some of Fayt’s thoughts. He knows this is advantageous; he can take over Fayt and control him like a marionette. With Fayt by his side, he can control not only the Eternal Sphere, but also the Sphere Company. It’s almost too easy; it’s also too tempting.

But he doesn’t give into it because he rather have Fayt trust in him so what he does and what he eventually will do are of righteousness and goodness. He is a god, after all; he is supposed to be good, right?

“Are you still in denial?” he asks him, leaning down at Fayt. He lets a finger trace the man’s soft bottom lip and feels that familiar desire at the pit of his stomach uncurl. No, he can’t do that again, because if he does, he’ll get addicted. The first time he had taken Fayt, it was many months ago and yet…

“No,” Fayt says. “What are you doing in my head?”

Luther smiles in amusement. Doesn’t he realize that Luther is resting on top of him? “I’m not in your head-- you’re not dreaming. You’re awake.” He leans back as Fayt asks another question and watches those eyes open.

“… I thought you were dead,” Fayt murmurs.

“You thought wrong,” Luther replies as his finger traces that supple bottom lip. It’s becoming a bad habit. How long can he last until he takes Fayt again? Fayt asks more redundant questions while Luther continues to play with him, and then he suddenly hears Fayt’s thoughts. This all amuses him again. “But everyone is your enemy, Fayt.”

----

He realizes many things as he travels with his former enemy. One, Fayt is too amusing, especially with how Fayt thinks that he is hallucinating Luther all up. And two, Luther wonders if he should tell him that it was Fayt who had brought him back from the dead. Fayt was the one who had called upon him, letting his feelings get in the way.

He visits Fayt for the last time, handing him the same wine that had gotten Fayt drunk before. Fayt takes it hesitantly as the two watch the night through the window.

“So you admit you can’t control me,” Fayt says with a raised eyebrow.

Luther looks at him and narrows his eyes. He had told Fayt a lie in order to give the blue-haired man a little ego boost, and now he’s rubbing it into Luther’s face. “I can control you in other ways.”

Lust and desire rushes throughout his body as he hears more of Fayt’s thoughts. He has to teach Fayt a lesson of discipline, and he does as he makes his way over to Fayt, takes the glass of wine away from him and brings him over to their bed.

Fayt is somewhat drunk, but he’s willing. That makes a big difference; he doesn’t have to feel guilty for the other night. “Do you remember anything?” There is a shake of a head; so much for not feeling guilty.

“I don’t think I want to remember,” Fayt says, and there’s a sudden prick at his heart at the thought of Fayt not wanting to remember him at all.

“Hmm,” Luther murmurs; he leans down and kisses Fayt again.

----

As the sunlight streams into the bed and hits Luther in the eyes, he wakes up, separating his naked self from the warm covers of the bed and Fayt’s supple body. He looks at the window and sees the sun rising and shining. He snorts and starts putting his clothes on.

He knows what to do now; he has to leave. He’s not wanted here, which whether he admits it or not, saddens him a little. What does he expect? He’s the enemy after all.

He slips out of the room and resumes watching Fayt from afar again. He’s even amused by how Fayt wakes up and goes through his day and with a confused look on his face. Everything falls into place as he starts traveling again, with a little more life and vigor in his eyes.

Even his friends has started calling him, inviting him into a reunion that takes place at the Diplo. In the shadows, Luther feels that familiar tug of emotions and he, being drawn to it as always, goes and visits Fayt in his room in a different kind of way.

“Luther, where have you been?” Fayt inquires, trailing a finger down at the glass. Luther smirks; if somebody else is in the room, they wouldn’t be able to see Luther. They’ll just think Fayt’s crazy and that he’s hallucinating because Luther had manipulated the system of the Eternal Sphere enough that whenever he feels like it, only Fayt can see him.

“Around, fixing this and that. Being with you has given me a few ideas,” Luther admits; this time, he’s being honest. He doesn’t miss the sudden stiffness of Fayt’s body though.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

Luther couldn’t help but chuckle, reaching out with his palm and pressing it against the glass. He reassures Fayt, “What I meant it to be.”

    Fin.

An: :D LOL, that was fun. XD
