Compromise
-Hololicious
Another impromptu meeting,
No facades, no pretenses, no lies.
But they are still looking and seeing,
For slips and cracks--anything that hides.
They both know immense suffering,
But they’re too lost-- even now.
The pain, the agony-- too blinding.
One would ask just how
they are ever going to get along.
How can this ever be done?
He holds up the world for a long
while; the other has the heart and the sun.
They ask for forgiveness.
They ask for repentance.
He wants a blooming business.
He wants a balance.
“You can’t use me,” he says.
“I wasn’t trying to,” the other replies.
“But you are.” A fact, no guess.
A sigh. “Aren’t we allies?”
“Right.” A chuckle here and there.
“Yes,” the other smiles perfectly.
Blue-green eyes then glare.
“Just wait and see.”
